内容介绍：
After presenting a comparison of the demographic and housing characteristics of China and the United States, as well as a review of the different approaches to providing affordable housing, Professor Rohe will compare the main affordable housing programs in the two countries and discuss the success of those programs in providing housing for those who cannot afford it in the private market. He will go on to identify the major issues in the provision of affordable housing in the two countries-- such as an inadequate supply, who is being served, and where it should be located--and discuss possible solutions to these issues. He will also suggest policy recommendations for the provision of affordable housing in the two countries.
嘉宾介绍：
Dr. Rohe is the Cary C. Boshamer Distinguished Professor of City and Regional Planning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and he is also the Director of the University’s Center for Urban and Regional Studies, one of the premier university based urban research centers in the U.S. He is a leading scholar in the field of housing and community development having published more than 70 refereed journal articles and several books, such as Planning with Neighborhoods and The Research Triangle: From Tobacco Road to Global Prominence. Dr. Rohe has also conducted funded research project for many federal state and local government agencies, such as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the State of North Carolina, and for major foundations, such as the Ford Foundation and the Mac Arthur Foundation. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of the Urban Affairs Association and been awarded two Fulbright grants to study abroad in Barcelona and Glasgow.
