Academician Gao has long been engaged in theoretical and practical research in the fields of environmental architecture, circular architecture, and smart architecture. He created a new field of urban environmental engineering in Japan and participated in the development of the urban low-carbon environmental planning of Kitakyushu Environment Future City, one of Japan's first environmental demonstration cities.
