On November 27, 2024, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) announced the winners of the two highest awards of the RIBA International Awards: the RIBA International Prize and the RIBA International Emerging Architect Prize, for the year's top honorees.
The project "Modulus Matrix: 85 Social Housing," designed by the renowned Spanish architectural firm Peris + Toral Arquitectes, won the RIBA International Prize 2024.
Zhang Yuxing (a researcher at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning) and Han Jing (an external mentor at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning) from ARCity Office, won the RIBA International Emerging Architect 2024 for their project "Six Bricolage-houses." The RIBA International Emerging Architect Prize aims to recognize architectural firms that have been in practice for 10 years or less and have made significant contributions to the international field of architecture. Successful projects should demonstrate visionary or innovative thinking and excellent execution, regardless of the style, complexity, and scale of the proposal and budget.
The winners of these two annual awards were selected from the 22 global winning projects and architectural firms announced on June 12, 2024, for the RIBA International Awards for Excellence 2024. The "Six Bricolage-houses" project, led by Zhang Yuxing and Han Jing from ARCity Office, was one of the 22 winning projects of the RIBA International Awards for Excellence.
