School of Architecture and Urban Planning conducted academic exchange visits and enrollment presentations at Southwest Jiaotong University and Sichuan Agricultural University

To attract top-tier students and deepen academic collaborations with leading domestic universities, a delegation of seven members including Professor Yang Xiaochun (Vice Dean of Shenzhen University's School of Architecture and Urban Planning), Associate Professor Li Yun (Department Chair of Planning), Associate Professor Chen Hongsheng (Planning Department Assistant Chair), Associate Professor Tao Yiqi (Architecture Department Deputy Chair), and Associate Professor Wang Chunxiao (Landscape Architecture Department Deputy Chair) conducted academic exchanges and graduate enrollment presentations at Southwest Jiaotong University and Sichuan Agricultural University on June 19,2025.

First stop: Southwest Jiaotong University

At Southwest Jiaotong University, Professor Yang Xiaochun led a team in holding discussions with faculty members including Dean Shen Zhongwei of the School of Architecture, Vice Deans Cui Xu and Yang Qingjuan, Professor Bi Linglan of the Department of Urban Planning, Associate Professors Xuan Huang, Yang Linchuan, and Wu Ran (deputy department heads for Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture), along with other college leaders, department directors, and core faculty members. The session focused on sharing the school's profile, disciplinary strengths, and development strategies, while also exchanging ideas on advancing future academic collaboration.

A recruitment briefing was subsequently held for all undergraduate students. Associate Professors Tao Yiqi and Wang Chunxiao comprehensively showcased the university's strengths, campus environment, and geographical advantages as a core engine in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. They also detailed the Master's programs offered by the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, including research directions, faculty profiles, curriculum design, scholarship policies, application procedures, and career prospects. The event concluded with enthusiastic Q&A sessions with students.

Next stop: Sichuan Agricultural University

At Sichuan Agricultural University, Professor Yang Xiaochun focused on the innovation of talent training mode, research team construction, industry-university-research cooperation, international education, laboratory and platform management, etc., and had in-depth discussions with Zhang Lingqing, deputy dean of the School of Architecture and Urban and Rural Planning, director of the Department of Planning and key teachers.

During the subsequent recruitment session, Associate Professor Li Yun provided a detailed introduction to Shenzhen University's history and current development status for attending faculty and students. She emphasized the university's promising prospects and advantages, encouraging undergraduate and graduate students to apply. Associate Professor Chen Hongsheng then presented an overview of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, covering its graduate education programs, enrollment statistics, and disciplinary strengths.

The event achieved remarkable success through two meticulously designed graduate admissions presentations. These sessions not only showcased Shenzhen University's comprehensive development advantages, distinctive educational features, scholarship programs, and distinguished alumni to outstanding undergraduates at target institutions, but also detailed the School of Architecture and Urban Planning's academic strengths, faculty expertise, research platforms, and promising career prospects. The presentations attracted substantial attention, inquiries, and word-of-mouth promotion from prospective students.
