On April 12th, the ‘Architect’s Responsibility System in Urban Renewal’ academic forum and the 2024 annual branch work meeting of the Architectural Society of China were held in Shanghai. At the meeting, Vice Chairman Wang Cuikun announced the list of excellent branch organizations of the Architectural Society of China for the previous year. The Student Branch was rated as an Excellent Branch Organization of the Architectural Society of China for the year 2023, and achieved the sixth place among the 63 branch organizations of the society!

Chairman Xiu Long of the Architectural Society of China, Vice Supervisor Zhao Qi, Vice Chairman Cao Jiaming, Secretary Li Cundong and other leaders and guests at the meeting presented awards to the excellent branch organizations. Cao Jun, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Student Branch, proudly received the award on behalf of the branch!

In 2023, under the guidance of the Architectural Society of China, the Student Branch completed its term change. After the term change, the Student Branch added 22 council schools, and the number of members nationwide reached 4,516. In this year, the Student Branch held 19 events across the country, spanning 9 cities, and radiating to nearly a hundred schools of architecture and planning. In each meticulously prepared thematic event, the Student Branch allowed more than 50 student members to embark on a free architectural study tour, inter-school visits, experience different local customs, and also go abroad to establish friendships and dialogue with students from different countries.

Looking forward to 2024, the Student Branch will continue to play its own characteristics under the leadership of the Architectural Society of China, strive for excellence, carry out more high-quality activities, and lead contemporary young architecture students to keep moving forward. As Chairman Xiu Long mentioned in his speech at the meeting, “The 70 years of the Society is like a magnificent and colorful scroll. The older generation of architects has given the Society excellent genes, and the tide of times has given us opportunities and hopes”, “Take on the historical responsibility of our generation and make new contributions to the high-quality development of the country’s construction cause.”

Standing at a new and higher starting point for development, the Student Branch is willing to join hands with various branch organizations to promote the development of the Society to a new level, and jointly make new contributions to the high-quality development of housing and urban-rural construction in our country.
