The Contemporary Chinese Architectural Creation Forum was established in 1984, its predecessor was the Modern Chinese Architectural Creation Research Group, which is the largest non-official architectural academic group in the country. Through the operation and practice of more than twenty sessions, it has promoted the prosperity of architectural creation in our country, enlivened the atmosphere of architectural creation, made positive contributions to the overall improvement of architectural creation in our country, and enjoys a good reputation and wide influence in the architectural world.

After deliberation by the forum organizing committee, the 27th Contemporary Chinese Architectural Creation Forum will be held at Shenzhen University in early 2024. Shenzhen University has hosted the fifth (Review and Development) and the seventh (10th Anniversary Review of the Group’s Establishment) creation forums in 1990 and 1994, respectively. From 1984 to 2024, the Contemporary Chinese Architectural Creation Forum has gone through a 40-year journey. In order to continue the academic spirit of the Chinese Architectural Creation Research Group, share the new thoughts, new concepts, and new works of many architects and scholars in recent years, it was decided by the Contemporary Chinese Architectural Creation Forum Organizing Committee to hold the 27th Chinese Architectural Creation Forum at Shenzhen University in early 2024, to explore the future direction of architectural creation with many academicians, master architects, and scholars from both domestic and international, and to discuss the responsibilities, missions, and historical roles of architects under the new situation.

To inherit and continue the special exchange activities of young architectural students initiated at Shenzhen University in 1990, the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Shenzhen University, in conjunction with the Student Branch of the Architectural Society of China, has specially added a ‘Growth’ sub-forum for students at this forum, with the theme ‘Architectural Creation ±30—Dialogue between the Past and the Future’. Inviting architectural predecessors who participated in the special activities of the 1990 Creation Forum to return to Shenzhen, and to engage in a growth dialogue spanning thirty years with the new generation of excellent architectural students. Recalling the road of growth, looking forward to the future. Reorganize and redefine the mission of architectural creation at different times, and stimulate new creativity and innovation in the field of architectural practice. Looking forward to students from more than thirty architectural schools across the country gathering in Shenzhen, talking about growth, and sharing the future; wishing the all-day student activities on March 24th to add infinite warmth and brilliance to the forum, and pass on the torch of architectural creation!
