The division of Urban and Rural Planning was derived from the Urban Planning teaching section founded in 1983. The Department was established in 2002. It obtained the master's degree of master's degree in urban and rural planning in 2003. The Department passed the undergraduate teaching evaluation of urban planning in 2009. It obtained the first-class master's degree in urban and rural planning in 2011. In 2017, it passed the evaluation of undergraduate teaching in urban and rural planning. The Division of Urban and Rural Planning was selected as a national top-level undergraduate major in 2019.Yang Xiaochun is the current Head of the Department.
